The First World War Memorial in St. Mary's Church, Old Malton commemorates 32 men who lost their lives. Of these men, 16 had served in the Yorkshire Regiment. The memorial is a brass plaque mounted on a marble base.

Below the First World War Memorial is a plaque that commemorates those who died in the Second World War. 6 names are recorded on this memorial. Beneath the two main plaques is a small plaque with two names on it, - each an addition to names commemorated for the First and Second World Wars.

Private James Cockerill. 240035. 5th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Killed 5 October 1918.

Private Robert William Eden, 1632. 5th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of R. and E. Eden, of Pickering, Yorks. Killed 11 February 1916.

Lance Corporal George Ellis. 5635. 13th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Killed 24 November 1917.

Private Fred Gibson. 242373. 5th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Killed 30 March 1918.

Private Martin Harrison, 240104. 5th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Harrison, of "Melville," 9, Highfield Rd., Old Malton, Yorks. Killed 27 May 1918. Aged 21.

Commemorated on SOISSONS MEMORIAL.

Private James Jemmeson. 2001. 4th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Aaron and Ann Jemmeson, of 74, Commercial St., Norton, Malton, Yorks. Native of Old Malton. Killed 2 June 1915. Aged 22.
Born Old Malton, Enlisted Northallerton, Resided York.
Buried STE. MARIE CEMETERY, LE HAVRE.

2nd Lieutenant Fred Kitching. 5th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment attached to 1st/6th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment. Killed in action 10 July 1918.

Lance Corporal Harry Wilson. 2227. 5th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment.
Son of the late Thomas Harland Wilson and Lydia Ann Wilson. Died at home 26 October 1916. Aged 29.

Private Arthur Wray, 13073. 9th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Killed 7 October 1916. Aged 22.

Rifleman George Yates. 589062. 17th Battalion (posted to 2nd Battalion) London Regiment, formerly 4553 the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Anthony and Mary Ann Yates; husband of Mary Hilda Yates, of Rose Bud Place, Sleights, York. Native of Old Malton, Yorks. Killed 16 May 1918. Aged 34.
Enlisted Saltburn, Resided Sleights.
