Inside the porch of the parish church of St. Michael's Church,
Cold Kirby, there is a decorated Roll of Honour. This Roll of Honour commemorates
one of the parishioners who fell in the First World War, and in whose name the
church porch was erected.
The Roll of Honour is inscribed
"St. Michael's Church, Cold Kirby.
THIS PORCH was erected by Parishioners and friends to the Glory of God and in
loving memory of ALBERT ERNEST DUNNING who died of wounds in the Great
War.

Private Albert Ernest Dunning, 30581. 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment.
Son of Christopher and Elizabeth Dunning, of Cold Kirby, Thirsk, Yorks. Killed
on 28 December 1916. Aged 20.
Buried WARLINCOURT HALTE BRITISH CEMETERY, SAULTY.
