The War Memorial for Romiley is situated on a small "island" between the Stockport Road (B1064) and Green Lane in Romiley. The memorial is near the Duke of York public house.

The memorial commemorates the names of 65 Romiley men who fell in the First World War.

One Yorkshire Regiment soldier from Romiley is commemorated on the memorial.

Private Harry Hibbert. 10509. 2nd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Joseph and Sarah Alice Hibbert, of 44, Stockport Rd., Romiley, Cheshire. Killed 15 June 1915. Aged 19.
Born Stockport, Enlisted Eastbourne, Resided Romiley (Cheshire)
