William Johnson's age does not appear to be correct, though it is shown as such in the CWGC database. Richard Roberts (<richard.nsw@googlemail.com>) comments;-
"William Johnson's medal card indicates that he was awarded the 15 Star having entered the war zone in France on 1/11/1915. So already you can guess that something is not quite right. He is described as the son of Mrs Grace Johnson of 64 William Street, Scarborough. She was living there when the 1911 Census was taken with her husband, Joseph, but no mention of William. However he does appear in the 1901 Census for Scarborough with Grace and Joseph aged 11, that is to say born about 1890. There was a William Johnson born in the Scarborough RD in June Qtr., 1890. William died in January 1917 before he reached his 27th birthday. It looks very much as though somewhere in the past, the CWGC misread his age which should be 26 not 16."
