Sergeant Samuel Furneaux Burge. 2321. 2nd/5th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Husband of Pamela Burge. Died at home 16 April 1917. Aged 58.
Born Geelong (Australia), Enlisted London, Resided London.
Buried NEW BRENTFORD CEMETERY.
(Additional information : Superintendent of the Peabody Estates, Vauxhall Bridge Rd., London. Served with the Devonshire Infantry Regiment from 16/8/1878 to 15/8/1890. Enlisted 28/9/1914. Discharged 16/8/1916 medically unfit due to advanced age! Died of cardiac failure at St Thomas Hospital, London. His son also named Samuel Furneaux Burge (born 1890) served in France throughout the war with the ASC and died in Devon aged 73.)
