The War Memorial for Seaburn and Fulwell

This particular War memorial is curious in that it commemorates the men of Fulwell who lost their lives in the First World War, but is located in nearby Seaburn. The memorial itself is a bronze plaque set on a slightly raked plinth, such that it is almost horizontal. This is set at the head of an octagonal stone surround, in the centre of which is an octagonal bench. The whole is located in a small park at the junction of Sea Lane and Chichester Road in Seaburn.
106 names of men who fell in the First World War are commemorated on the memorial. A transcription of all the names can be found on the website for the North East War Memorials Project, and a larger view of the memorial, - suitable for transcription, is shown below.
Four men who served with the Yorkshire Regiment are commemorated on this memorial.
Lance Corporal Roger Nichols Duncan. 17834. 6th Battalion Yorkshire
Regiment. Son of Bernard and Elizabeth Duncan; husband of Edith Smail (formerly
Duncan), of 10, Brooke St., Sunderland. Born at Sunderland. Killed 28 November
1917. Aged 24.
Born Pallion (Durham), Enlisted Sunderland, Resided Southwick-on-Wear.
Buried LOOS (ST. PATRICK'S) CEMETERY.
Corporal James Richard Jones. 21568. 21st Coy. Machine Gun Corps
(Infantry), formerly 16010 the Yorkshire Regiment. KIlled 9 April 1917.
Born Sunderland, Enlisted Sunderland, Resided Fulwell (Durham).
Commemorated Bay 10, ARRAS MEMORIAL.
Private Edward Cosgrove King, 48206. 5th Battalion the Yorkshire
Regiment, formerly TR/5/110154 87th T R Battn. Died 16 November 1918.
Born Sunderland, Enlisted Sunderland, Resided Fulwell.
Buried BERLIN SOUTH-WESTERN CEMETERY.
Private Charles Henry Stothard, 13474. 8th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment.
Killed 10 July 1916.
Born Sunderland, Enlisted Sunderland, Resided Fulwell.
