Commemorated Pier and Face 3 A and 3 D, Thiepval Memorial.
Private William Henry Bungay. 46500. 13th Battalion Yorkshire
Regiment. Son of James and Elizabeth Bungay; husband of Esther Bungay, of West
End, Sedgefield, Co Durham. Killed 20 July 1918. Aged 34.
Enlisted Ferryhill, Resided Sedgefield (Durham).
Buried LE QUESNOY COMMUNAL CEMETERY.
Private Robert Wilford Ruddick. 38961. 9th Battalion
Yorkshire Regiment. Killed 7 June 1917.
Born Hart (Durham), Enlisted Sedgefield (Fishburn).
Commemorated Panel 33, Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.
(Both the CWGC and SDGW records show the name as Robert Wilfred Ruddick. However,
he was registered born as Robert Wilford Ruddick in Q2 1897 in Hartlepool,
Durham.)
Private Herbert Waite Ward. 16594. 7th Battalion Yorkshire
Regiment. Killed 8 February 1917.
Born Sedgefield (Durham), Enlisted Sunderland, Resided Sedgefield.
