The Inscription on the Sharow War Memorial, and the names of those who are listed on it, are;-
"To the Glory of God. In proud and ever-living memory of the men of the Parish of Sharow who in the Great War 1914 - 1918 laid down their lives so that those at home might dwell in safety."

Commemorated Pier and Face 11 C and 12 A, THIEPVAL MEMORIAL.
("Caplewilk" is almost certainly meant to be "Copt Hewick".
This is a village just East of Ripon, and South of Wath where Ralph Admason
enlisted. From the 1911 Census, Ralph Adamson was born in 1883 and was a gardener
in Copt Hewick.)
