(9) Former members of the Yorkshire Regiment.
(10) There was a Pte G Seaman of the 4th Battalion reported wounded in December 1915. However, it appears that he was then transferred to the East Yorks, with whom he lost his life.

I am indebted to Bill Danby for help in compiling the data on the names recorded on this cross. Bill Danby has an exceptionally comprehensive website covering Skelton, - skeltonincleveland.com, and one of the pages on this website provides data on the names on the memorial in All Saints' Church (New) in Skelton.

It is important to note, however, that some of the names that appear on the All Saints' memorial are not included on this War Memorial, and vice versa. It is also curious that there appear to be several errors in the actual inscription of the names on the Memorial, - as noted above.
