1st / 4th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Native of Seamer, Farm, Yorks. Son of Hannah Appleton, of Newby, Nunthorpe, Yorks. Served in the South African Campaign. Killed 25 April 1915. Aged 43.
Born Seamer (Stokesley, Yorks), Enlisted Stokesley, Resided Newby
Buried BOULOGNE EASTERN CEMETERY.
