Private Ernest BRADNAM.
33415.
6th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 4556 Suffolk Regt. Son of William
and Martha A. Bradnam, of Queen St., Withersfield, Newmarket. Killed 29 September
1917. Aged 28.
Born Haverhill (Suffolk), Enlisted Haverhill, Resided Withersfield (Suffolk).
Buried MENDINGHEM MILITARY CEMETERY.
(Rita Burr (<ritaburrke666@outlook.com>), a great niece of Ernest Bradnam
states that he was actually born in Withersfield and lived in the village
all of his life.)
Rather curiously, in the full length portrait (selected from the thumbnail
image above), Ernest Bradnam is wearing the stripes of a Corporal in the Yorkshire
Regiment. However, there are no apparent records of him serving in this rank.
