5th Battalion Tank Corps, formerly 39016 the Yorkshire Regiment. Killed 22 March 1918.
Enlisted Richmond (Yorks).

"Ernest Sidney Doncaster was born in 1898 in Grantham. Son of William Mason Doncaster and Eliza Jane (nee Ballaam).
Enlisted at Richmond - 39016 Yorkshire Regiment.
His mother always believed he may return and never locked the back door, just in case. His brother, Henry Mason Doncaster, is also on the Grantham War Memorial. He enlisted in Grantham, was wounded and returned home, only to die from his injuries and pneumonia a few months later".
