2nd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Husband of Mabel Cooper (formerly Egan), of Sturton-by-Stow, Lincoln. Killed 12 March 1915. Aged 29.
Born Leeds, Enlisted Leeds
Commemorated on Panel 12, LE TOURET MEMORIAL.

Private Michael Egan was in the 2nd Battalion which sailed for Belgium in October 1914. He took part in the 1st Battle of Ypres.
Before sailing for Belgium the 2nd Battalion was stationed in the Channel Islands.
This dates the above photo as possibly having been taken in 1913.
