Private John GERAGHTY, 10380

2nd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment.
Disembarked for France, 22 April 1915.
Captured at Vermailles, 25 September 1915.
Imprisoned in Munster II camp.
Released at the end of the War.
Re-joined the 2nd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment on returning to the UK, and served in Ireland.
While in Ireland, married his wife and became the father of several children.

Before the War, the 1911 Census showed that;-
He was aged 14 (therefore born 1897) and was employed at "grinding castings".
His mother was Catherine Geraghty.
He had three sisters, Helen, Emily and Francis.
The family lived at 10 Ingram Street, Leeds.
