Captain Hugh LEVIN

Born at York, 16 January 1886, son of Major H L M Levin, 19th Foot.
2nd Lieut. 28 January 1905; Lieut. 3 October 1906; Cptain 23 April 1913; Brevet-Major 3 June 1917; Retired 19 March 1921.
In the War 1914-18 went to Belgium with the 2nd Batallion. Severely wounded at Gheluvelt, 29 October 1914 (bronze star and clasp, silver and bronze medals). For the remainder of the War was employed on the staff at home (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Major).

Recalled September 1939. Served on Staff, 2nd World War. Honorary Lieut. Colonel.

Died June 1972, Carlisle.
