Private Robert MOORE, 242719.

5th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Joseph and Mary Moore; husband of Florrie Banks Williams (formerly Moore), of 4, Porritt's Yard, Cook's Row, Scarborough. Killed 23 April 1917. Aged 38.
Born Scarborough, Enlisted Scarborough.
Buried HENINEL COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION.

"This is Robert Moore and this is the photograph I used to see hanging on my great aunt Meg's wall. She had it framed with a surround of poppies and a poem underneath entitled 'Flanders Field'. I am obliged to her grandson, Nigel Somers, who has given me this photograph."
