5th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of John and Mary Pert, of 101, George
St., Whiteinch, Glasgow. Killed 29 July 1916. Aged 22.
Enlisted Beverley.
Commemorated on Panel 33, YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL.
In the 1911 Census he was living at 16 Vicar Lane, Beverley (Yorks) and was
an apprentice plater ni a shipyard.
Head of the house was Charles Hamlet, brother-in-law.
(in the census he appeared to have a middle name, - Stirton.
