Born Pickering, Enlisted Pickering, Resided Pennistone (Sheffield).
Buried CABARET-ROUGE BRITISH CEMETERY, SOUCHEZ.


John Mason Pickering was born in Newbridge (Pickering) on 31 July 1877.
His parents were John Pickering (1839–1896) and Ann Lowther (1842–1896).
in the 1891 and 1901 Census's he was a farm labourer.
He married Edith Emily Cruse in January 1904.
By 1911 he had moved to the Barnsley area, and a son (John Cyril Pickering) was born in Penistone in May 1912.
