9th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Alfred and Minnie Rhodes, of 3, Richards Place, York St., Hull. Killed 7 June 1917. Aged 19.
Born Scarborough, Enlisted Scarborough.
Commemorated on Panel 33, YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL.

Although there is no portrait photo of Private John Rhodes, a letter exists which provides an insight into the circumstances of his death, This letter has been forwarded by Neil Rhodes, a great nephew of John Rhodes.
