Born West Boldon, Enlisted Sunderland, Resided Usworth.
Buried WANCOURT BRITISH CEMETERY.
Private Simpson is commemorated by one of the special memorials in this cemetery
to casualties known or believed to be buried in the cemetery.
Born Abt. 1896 • Boldon, Durham, England.
In the 1911 Census he is shown as a Pony Driver, undergound, and living in
Douglas Terrace, Usworth.
The circumstances of his wounding during service with the 7th Battalion are currently not known.
