    on James Smith;-
    James Smith was born 1892 in Durham and lived in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, from 
    where he registered. (enlistment was post 1915, as he was awarded the British 
    War mMedal and Victory Medal but not the 1914-15 Star).
    His occupation was Miner and this was both before and after the war.
    His wife was Elizabeth Grady they got married in 1911. At the time of him 
    enlisting he had two daughters Jean Winifred Smith and Eleanor Smith, He went 
    on to have another daughter Edna May Smith and a son John Smith.
