4th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Killed 16 June 1915.
Born Newcastle, Enlisted Eston, Resided Grangetown.
Buried BAILLEUL COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION (NORD).

Claude Tindall Turnbull was born in Newcastle in July 1889
Although baptised "Claude Tindall Turnbull" he was later mostly known only as "Claude (or Claud) Turnbull".
His father was Thomas Turnbull (1849–1894). His mother was Charlotte Eliza Shepherd (1862–1907).
In the 1911 Census he was a steelworker living as a lodger at Farm Cottage, Grangetown.
His sole legatee on death was Mrs Frances Ann Lodge (connection unknown).
