5th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment.

Son of John and Rose Young, of 66, Belford Terrace, North Shields; husband of Margaret Young, of 19, Victoria Crescent, North Shields. Killed 1 November 1917. Aged 25.
Born Tynemouth, Enlisted North Shields.

There are no biographical details of Charles Young, but a descendant of his, Graham Taylor (<grahamtailor@btconnect.com>) has provided a charming photo of the Young family taken in 1897.
