No names are recorded on this memorial. The names of the men from South Hetton who died in the First World War are commemorated on a plaque inside Holy Trinity Church, and a windown in the church is dedicated to them.

Born Ryhope (Co Durham), Enlisted Houghton-le-Spring, Resided South Hetton (Durham).
Buried LES BARAQUES MILITARY CEMETERY, SANGATTE.

Private William Burn. 16571. 2nd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of the late Joseph and Sarah Burn (nee Richardson), of 20, Forster St., South Hetton, Co. Durham. Killed 15 June 1915. Aged 18.
Born Wingate (Durham), Enlisted Sunderland, Resided South Hetton.
Commemorated on Panel 12, LE TOURET MEMORIAL.

Private Richard Cathrine, 16533. 8th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Killed 7 June 1917.
Born South Hetton, Enlisted Sunderland, Resided South Hetton.
Commemorated on Panel 33, YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL.

Private Robert Kennedy. 16316. 11th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Michael and Margaret Kennedy, of South Hetton, Co. Durham. Died 2 May 1916. Aged 29.
Commemorated on the UNITED KINGDOM BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE.
(The Service Record of Robert Kennedy exists. He was a miner and suffered from pulmonary Tubercolosis. He was discharged to Pension on 16 March 1916.)

Private Isaac Rodgers. 241786. 8th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 143078 R F A. Son of Mr. W. Rodgers, of 17, Forster St., South Hetton, Sunderland. Killed 20 September 1917.
Enlisted Sunderland, Resided South Hetton.
Buried HOOGE CRATER CEMETERY.

Private Henry Rogerson. 16632. 10th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Mary Ann Rogerson, of South Hetton, and the late William Rogerson; husband of Edith Anne Patton (formerly Rogerson) of 35 James St., South Hetton. Died at home 13 July 1916. Aged 26.
Born South Hetton (Durham), Enlisted Sunderland, Resided South Hetton.
Buried SOUTH HETTON (HOLY TRINITY) CHURCHYARD.

Private John Young. 16574. 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of James and Margaret Young, of 4, Clarence St., South Hetton, Co. Durham. Killed 1 July 1916. Aged 23.
Born South Hetton, Enlisted Sunderland, Resided South Hetton.
