The Stamford (Lincs) War memorial is located outside Browne's Hospital, on Broad Street.

The Royal British Legion in Stamford have a comprehensive website which describes the memorial, and provides photographs of all the panels on the memorial together with a transcription of all the names on the memorial. Steve Bonde, of the RBL Stamford website, has generously allowed this website to use the data.

Private James Henry Smith. 41600. 9th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Formerly 32260 11th Cavalry Regt. Son of William Henry and Eliza Jane Smith, of 22, Conduit Rd., Stamford, Lincs. Killed 7 June 1917. Aged 19.
Born Stamford (Lincs), Enlisted Stamford.
Commemorated on Panel 33, YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL.
