The Stannington War Memorial is located at the junction of Church Street and Upper Gate Road in Stannington. The memorial commemorates the names of 69 men from Stannington and Loxley who fell during the First World War and 14 men from the Second World Was. One man who served with the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on the memorial.


Private Owen Timothy Leach. 48104. 2nd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 5/276266 7th T R Battn. Son of Timothy Owen and Lucy Leach. Killed 8 May 1918. Aged 20.
Born Sheffield, Enlisted Sheffield, Resided Rowell Bridge (Loxley).
Buried KLEIN-VIERSTRAAT BRITISH CEMETERY.
