The Stretford Town Hall is now known as the Trafford Town Hall.
It is located in Talbot Road, Stretford.
Inside the building is a cabinet holding the First World War Book of Remembrance.
This is a leather bound book with card pages which commemorates 580 men who
lost their lives in the war.
We are very grateful to George Cogswell for giving us permission to use his images of this book.
Four soldiers who served with the Yorkshire Regiment are commemorated in this memorial book.

8th Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment, formerly 26358 the Yorkshire Regiment.
Grandson of W. E. Couper, of 123. Second Avenue, Trafford Park, Manchester.
Killed 29 September 1916. Aged 21.
Born Manchester, Enlisted Bedale (Yorks).
Commemorated Pier and Face 14 A and 14 B, THIEPVAL MEMORIAL.
Private William Joseph Lamb, 202798. 10th Battalion
Yorkshire Regiment. Son of James Albert Lamb, of 111, Cyprus St., Stretford,
and the late Ellen Lamb; husband of Mary Agnes Lamb, of 33, Urmston Lane,
Stretford, Manchester. Killed 5 October 1917. Aged 33.
Born Salford (Lancs), Enlisted Manchester, Resided Streford.
Buried BUTTES NEW BRITISH CEMETERY.
Private Arthur McNamara. 41668. 6th Battalion Yorkshire
Regiment. Formerly 160837 R F A. Son of the late Richard and Harriet McNamara,
of 4, Nelson Terrace, Brook's Bar, Manchester. Died 27 August 1917. Aged 28.
Born Manchester, Enlisted Manchester.
Commemorated on Panels 125 to 128, TYNE COT MEMORIAL.

Regiment. Killed 31 July 1917.
