Richard Roberts (<richard@nosnailshere.co.uk>) visited the Church of St. James, Tebay, and photographed the outside of the Church. Unable to gain entry, he contacted the Orton Tebay Family History Society, who gave him permission to use the above images which appear on the Tebay War Memorial website.
One soldier of the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated in this window.
Private Charles Nicholson, 25763. 9th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment.
Son of Mary Jane Nicholson, of Mount Pleasant, Tebay, Penrith, and the late
Joseph Nicholson. Died of wounds 23 September 1917. Aged 22.
Born Tebay (Westmoreland), Enlisted Carlisle, Resided Tebay.
Buried LIJSSENTHOEK MILITARY CEMETERY.
