by Colonel H C Wylly;-
"2nd Lieutenant A H Eames joined the 2nd Battalion amongst a draft of
Officers and men in April 1915.
He was wounded on 15 June 1915 when leading his men in an attack on German
trenches near Givenchy."

"2nd Lieutenant A H Eames was killed in action on July 1st 1916 aged
21 taking part in the East Yorkshires attack on the fortified village of Fricourt
during the first day of the Somme offensive.
He was the son of Mr L H Eames of Upper Nash, Pulborough in Sussex."
