Memorials Elsewhere, - Thurlby (Lincs), - Methodist Churches |
Originally there were two chapels in Thurlby, - the Top Chapel (Free Methodist) and the Wesleyan Chapel. The latter is now the Methodist Church and the former has been decommissioned and is in secular use. The First World War Memorials found in each of these buildings are shown below. Each memorial commemorates 23 men who lost their lives in the First World War, including 1 soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment.
The marble plaque that was originally in the Free Methodist Chapel was subsequently moved to the Methodist Church (formerly known as the Wesleyan Chapel) upon closure of the Free Methodist Chapel.
