There are two plaques in All Saints' Church, Wingate, that commemorate those who lost their lives in the two World Wars. The larger plaque commemorates 147 men from the First World War, with the smaller plaque commemorating 57 men who lost their lives in the Second World War and in the Suez War.

Photos of the First World War memorial plaques, and the church, are shown below. A transcription of all the names can be found on the website for the North East War Memorials Project. However, the photo of the First World War Memorial plaque, above, is shown at a resolution whereby each name can be transcribed.

9 men who served with the Yorkshire Regiment are commemorated on this memorial.

We are extremely grateful to Norman Cummings (<norman_cummings@hotmail.co.uk>) who has photographed the memorial plaques and the church.
