We are very grateful to Andrew Brewster for use of the photos of the memorial. Andrew has listed all the names on the memorial on a website for Writtle Bell Ringers where there is further information on the commemoration of the Centenary of the outbreak of the First World War which involved the ringing of peals of church bells.
