Private Nicholas
Hustin HUDSON. 38712. 9th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Henry Hudson, of 17, Baring St., South Shields, and the late Elizabeth Hudson. Killed 9 October 1918. Aged 28, Born South Shields, Enlisted Portsmouth, Resided South Shields. Commemorated on Panel 5, VIS-EN-ARTOIS MEMORIAL. "Jim" of the North East War Memorials Project (<jampas@btopenworld.com>) has kindly forwarded the attached information, which comes from a contemporary in-house magazine of the Smith's Dock Company. On the attached information, Pte Hudson is referred to as "N A Hudson". It could well be that his middle name was "Austin" and not "Hustin", - even though both the CWGC register and SDGW refer to him by the latter name. |
