The War Memorial for the City of Aberdeen is located at the junction of School Hill and Blackfriars Street, Aberdeen.

The memorial is a Corinthian colonnade quadrant corner with six columns with a sculpture of the British Lion at the front. On each side of the wall there is a former County Council coats of arms and at the centre is a wreath. T he Memorial Court inside the hall is a circular chamber with a domed ceiling. On the north side is a black marble panel, below which is a white marble platform with books encased in glass.

The Book of Remembrance is a Roll of Honour of the men and women of Aberdeen who laid down their lives in the First World War. These names were also shown in a special supplement of the "People's Journal" of 26 September 1925.

Private James Milner Baigrie. 36445. 12th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment transferred. to (384718) 94th Coy. Labour Corps. Son of William & Mary Baigrie. Husband of Christina Baigrie, of 6. John St., Aberdeen. Died 26 January 1919. Aged 44.
Born Kirriemuir, Kincardineshire.
Buried ABERDEEN (TRINITY) CEMETERY.
(Additional information from Pension & Service records;- Enlisted 29 October 1915. Discharged 24 December 1918 due to valvular heart disease.)

Private William Bannerman Crombie. 3/9304. 2nd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Alexander Crombie and Agnes Bannerman Crombie, of Aberdeen. Killed 15 June 1915. Aged 36.
Born Aberdeen, Enlisted Durham, Resided Ferryhill.
Commemorated on Panel 12, LE TOURET MEMORIAL.

Private Robert Melvin Simpson. 14357. 7th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of James Simpson, of Aberdeen. Killed 1 July 1916. Aged 44.
Born Aberdeen, Enlisted West Hartlepool, Resided Aberdeen.
Buried FRICOURT BRITISH CEMETERY.

Private Sylvester Smith. 34287. 9th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 19010 Scottish Rifles. Killed 5 October 1918.
Born Aberdeen, Enlisted Aberdeen.
Buried BEAUREVOIR BRITISH CEMETERY.
