The Bramhall (Stockport) War Memorial.

The Bramhall War Memorial is a Cross of Sacrifice with a shield at the bottom of the footed shaft and commemorates the dead of both World Wars. The memorial is set on an octagonal plinth, with a carved, decorated band at the top,with an incised dedication on its front face. The two World War commemorations and the "For the Fallen" poem are incised on its side panels in black, uppercase, lettering. A series of octagonal steps complete the memorial which stands in an octagonal flowerbed.
The memorial is located in Mayfield Place, Bramhall Lane South, Bramhall.
The memorial commemorates the fallen of the First World War (47 names) and
the Second World War (40 names).
One soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment is named on this memorial.
Private Bertram Bayley. 243030. 2nd/5th Battalion the Yorkshire
Regiment.Son of William and Elizabeth Bayley, of Park Hill, Woodford Rd.,
Bramhall, Stockport. Died at home 5 May 1917. Aged 38.
Resided Bramhall.
Buried WOODFORD (CHRIST CHURCH) CHURCHYARD.

His brother, Vernon William Lowndes Bayley, 49826, of the 8th Battalion Royal Fusiliers, was killed on 03 May 1917 agde 36 years old. He is commemorated on Bay 3 of the ARRAS MEMORIAL.
