Private Joseph Bailey. 235213. 19th Battalion The King's
(Liverpool Regiment), formerly 6768 Yorkshire Regiment. Husband of Mary J.
Bailey, of 61, Thursby Rd., Burnley. Killed 24 July 1917. Aged 38.
Born Burnley (Lancs), Enlisted Burnley.

"Husband of Mary J Bailey of 61 Thursby Road, Burnley.
His brother William Bailey was killed in action on 26 September 1917, aged
34. Served with the 2nd Royal Welsh Fusiliers.
William Bailey's address was also 61, Thursby Road.
Joseph was in the Passchendaele Trenches and was the only man in the Battalion
killed that day." )

Regiment. Son of James Henry and Ann Rebecca Barnes, of 9, Whittlefield Street,
Burnley. Killed 10 October 1917. Aged 25.

Private Robert Caton. 38857. 2nd Battalion the Yorkshire
Regiment. Son of Mary Ann Stansfield (formerly Caton), of 13, Hardy St., Burnley,
and the late Richard Caton. Killed 26 October 1917. Aged 19.

Private Andrew Cunningham. 203256. 2nd Battalion Yorkshire
Regiment. Killed 31 July 1917.

Captain Edward Dickinson. 11th Battalion the Yorkshire
Regiment. Son of the late D. D. and Jane Dickinson. Killed 28 June 1915. Aged

(The website, St.
Helens Roll of Honour, provides the following additional information on
Private Joseph William Potter, - obtained from the "Burnley Reporter"
of 15 January 1919.
His residence in Burnley was at 13 Argyle Street. In the 1911 Census he was
shown as being a "Miner Drawer" and living with his brother and
family at 16 Argyle Street, Burnley.
He died of poisoning.)
