The Churchyard of St. John's, East Witton, contains 3 burials from the First World war and one from the Second World War. One of the First World War burials is that of a Yorkshire Regiment soldier. What is rather curious is that this soldier's name does not appear on the nearby War Memorial.

One of the other First World War burials has a headstone located amongst several others of his own family.
