Griston, - Norfolk, Ss Peter & Paul's Churchyard contains 3 Commonwealth War Graves, - 1 from the First World War and 2 from the Second World War. One of the graves is that of a soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment.

Private Ernest George Brett. 4474. 2 /5th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Benjamin and Charlotte Brett; husband of May Julia Brett, of Griston, Thetford. Died at home 21 November 1916. Aged 36. Enlisted Norwich, Resided Griston. "In Loving Memory of GEORGE ERNEST THE BELOVED HUSBAND OF MAY JULIA BRETT ONLY SON OF BENJAMIN & CHARLOTTE BRETT WHO DIED NOVBR 21ST 1916 AGED 34 YEARS DEAR IS THE GRAVE WHERE OUR LOVED ONE IS LAID SWEET IS THE MEMORY WHICH NEVER WILL FADE SWEET IS THE HOPE THAT AGAIN WE SHALL MEET. KNEELING TOGETHER AT JESUS' FEET. GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN"
