Ryhope Cemetery contains 23 burials from both the First and Second World Wars, - 15 from the First World War and 8 from the Second World War.

One soldiers who served with the Yorkshire Regiment is buried in this cemetery.

Private Thomas Wilson Barnes, 13844. 10th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Thomasena Drysdale (formerly Barnes), of 23, West Terrace, Ryhope Colliery, and the late Thomas Barnes. Died at home 20 December 1915. Aged 23.
Born Ryhope, Enlisted Sunderland, Resided Ryhope.
