Walsall (Ryecroft) Cemetery, Staffordshire, contains 97 scattered burials of the First World War, 79 from the Second World War and one non-war service grave.
Amongst the graves are two for men of the Yorkshire Regiment, one of which is a family grave.


We are extremely grateful to Richard Roberts (<richard.nsw@googlemail.com>) who has forwarded the photographs of the headstones, with the photos including those of the areas in the cemetery in which the graves are located.

11th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, attached to Training Reserve. Died at home 29 May 1917. Aged 18.
Born Walsall, Enlisted Lichfield, Resided Walsall.

Serjeant Alexander Thomas Tait Serjeant Alexander Thomas Tait. 31070. 4th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, transferred to (131000) 102nd Chinese Labour Coy.
Son of John and Myra Tait of 116, Farringdon Street, Walsall.
Died at home 3 December 1918. Aged 29.
