The War Memorial for Connah's Quay and Shotton is located in
the High Street of Connah's Quay, Flintshire.
On the War Memorial, there are 203 names commemorated from the First World
War including that of Private Herbert Foulkes. In addition, there are 85 names

and 1 Iraq casualty.
Private Herbert Foulkes. 35034. 5th Battalion the Yorkshire
Regiment, formerly 15254 Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Died 3 October 1918.
Born Northop (Flint), Enlisted Shotton, Resided Connah's Quay.
Buried GLAGEON COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION.
Richard Roberts has added the information that;-
"According to the Flintshire WW1 Index Cards, Herbert Foulkes lived at
19 Church Street Connah's Quay and was taken prisoner on 27/5/1918 and died
at Taclon (misprint for Trelon) Hospital on 3/10/1918. "
