Shown in the CWGC records as "Charles Wright". The 1911 Census
confirms his name as Charles Richard Wright.
The 1911 Census records that the Wright family lived at 102 Grange Terrace,
Wood Street, Norton-on-Derwent. At the time, Charles Richard Wright was
a Colour Sergeat Instructor.
The name shown on the memorial in St. Peter's Church is "W C Wright".
However, no corresponding name associated with Norton-on-Derwent can be
found. It is assumed that this is a mis-spelling and should be "C R
Wright".
Possibly, also, the family moved to Whitby shortly afterwards.
