Served at the Battle of St. Juilen with the 5th Battalion. Awarded a Silver War Badge, November 1917. Death registered at St. George's, Hanover Square, London. Was the son of Edouard and Susannah Majolier and husband of Geraldine C Mojolier.

Born at Chelmsford, 15th July, 1892, son of Jacob Marriage.
2nd Lieut., 20th September, 1911 ; Lieut., 2nd September, 1914; Capt., 1st January, 1917 ; retired, with rank of Major. 25th September 1922.
Married to May Helen (nee Smither) on the 10th of November 1926 at Claydon Suffolk. He died on the 2nd of May 1935.

Born at Rylstone, Co. York, 20th November, 1888, elder son Lieut.-Col, William Wade Maude, 4th West Yorkshire Militia, of Skipton-in-Craven.
Served in India with 1st Battn. during the Great War. Wounded in action at Dakka, Afghanistan, 17th May, 1919.
Died at Peshawar of pneumonia, 5th November, 1919.
Commemorated on Face 1, DELHI MEMORIAL (INDIA GATE).

Died of wounds, aged 27, on 14 October 1917.
Buried in Rylstone (St. Peter) Churchyard.

Bom in London, 28th September, 1878, son of Sir Robert Alfred McCall, K.C., K.C.V.O., LL.D., Attorney General for the Duchy of Lancaster.
2nd Lieut., 23rd May, 1900; Lieut., 11th April, 1902; Capt 29th June, 1906 ; Adjt., 2nd Vol. Bn., 27th July, 1910—27th October, 1913; Major, 1st September, 1915 ; Brevet-Lieut.-CoL, 1st January, 1918; Lieut-Col., 1st January, 1927; retired, 16th November, 1929.
Served in the Boer War, 1900/02. Operations in the Transvaal. 30th November, 1900, to end of the war (Queen's medal and 5 clasps). In the war of 1914-18, proceeded with the 2nd Battn. to Belgium, and was present in the fighting at Ypres (wounded). Served in France on the Staff of the 60th Division as D.A.A. and later as A.A. and Q.M.G., and was present at the operations at Vimy Ridge, June to October, 1916. With the 60th served on the Macedonian front, and took part in the operations at Lake Doiran, in April, 1917. Also served with the 60th Division in Egypt and in the Palestine campaign, and was at the capture of Beersheba, the battle of Sheria, the capture of Jerusalem and Jericho, as well as in the operations east of the Jordan, between March and May, 1918. Was also present at the operations in Palestine and Syria in October
1918 (twice mentioned in despatches, C.M.G., D.S.O., Brevet of Lieut.-CoL, 4th
Class Order of the Nile, Chevalier of the Legion of Honour, 1914 star, bronze
and silver medals). Served with the Shanghai Defence Force in 1927 in command
of the 1st Battn, Green Howards.

Son of James and Alice McConnon.
Born in South Bank (Yorks), enlisted at Redcar, resided at South Bank.
Killed 1 July 1916 (Battle of the Somme), aged 27.
Buried in Fricourt British Cemetery.

Stuart McIntosh (<stu_mc40@yahoo.com>) has provided this photo and fascinating information on his grandfather, Thomas Herbert McIntosh;-

On 07/03/1911 Tom was appointed manager of Middlesborough Football Club. His first season in charge saw ‘Boro finish sixth in the First Division. The next season they finished 3rd, which is still the highest the Club has ever finished.

War broke out in 1914, and the following year Tom joined the 12th Service Battalion of the Yorkshire Regiment, known as the Teesside Pioneers. (He is shown in the Green Howards Gazette as having the Service Number 19960, and having the rank of Lance Serjeant). He was just short of his 36th birthday.

Before long he was promoted to Company Quarter Master Sergeant. On 30 August 1915 Tom married his second wife, Betsy Thompson in Middlesbrough. In January 1916 Tom’s company landed in France.

He later received his commission (29/01/1917), becoming a 2nd Lieutenant and was mentioned in despatches twice.

After being demobilized Middlesbrough FC won the Northern Victory League but, on 30/10/1919 Tom resigned as manager of Middlesborough. He became Secretary-Manager of Everton FC and is the man who signed Dixie Dean. Tom died in post in 1935

Son of Mr. A. McIntyre, of 27, Ings Avenue, Skipton, Yorks. Born at Wigton, Cumberland. Killed 5 October 1915. Aged 21.

Bom at Bridge House, Cromford, Derbyshire, 24th January, 1895, son of H. H. Middleditch, of Wigswill Grange, Wirksworth, Derbyshire.
2nd Lieut., 25th February, 1914 ; Lieut., 31st January, 1915 ; Capt., 29th March, 1920 ; Major, 10th December, 1930.
Proceeded with 2nd Battn. to Belgium in October, 1914. Wounded and taken prisoner near Ypres, 30th October, 1914 (1914 star, silver and bronze medals).
Served in Ireland during the rebellion, and with the Shanghai Defence Force, 1931.

The following supplemental information has been provided by a descendant, Howard Palmer (<HPalmer@2tg.co.uk>);-
".....Robert Henry Middleditch, .. was wounded and taken prisoner at Ypres on 30th October 1914.
Apparently his wounds were severe, and so, instead of being held in Germany he was repatriated (or transpatriated) to Switzerland, where he remained for the rest of the war at a hospital in Murren. His family (Father, mother and 2 sisters) were able to visit him for Christmas 1917 and the family still retains a silver cream jug which was won by one of the sisters in the Murren Christmas toboggan race!"

6th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Milholland, of Jamaica, and 6, The Downs, Wimbledon, London. Killed 26 February 1918. Aged 22.

The photograph is taken from the Roll of Balliol College, Oxford.
Captain Milholland was born in Jamaica on the 1st of January 1896, the eldest son of J.F. Milholland Crown solicitor for Jamaica. He was educated at Oundle Scool where he was Captain of School in 1913 and 1914. In 1914 he was elected Domus Exhibitioner in Classics and also Rhodes Scholar for Jamaica, but instead of taking his place at university he took a commission in December 1914 in the 6th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment.
In 1916 he was wounded at Mametz Wood on the Somme. In 1917 he was promoted first to Lieutenant and then to Captain, and for a time acted as Adjutant. On February the 26th 1918 he was out with a runner inspecting the front line when he was hit by a sniper and died shortly after reaching the casualty clearing station.

  CSM John George MORLEY, 200428

John George Morley was born in 1887.
He had joined the TA before the outbreak of the War, and enlisted in the 4th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment on 4th September 1914.
He did not leave for the Front until July 1917, possibly because as a CSM he would have had responsibility for training new soldiers.
In May 1918 he was captured by the Germans, and interned in Crossen am den Oder.
At the end of the War he was repatriated, but spent much time in hospitals.
He died in Stockton-on-Tees in 1963.

Born at Hessle, Hull, 14 February 1878, son of John Seymour Moss-Blundell, J P, of Tranby Rise, Hessle.
2nd Lieut. 29 December 1900; Lieut. 29 May 1903; Captain 29 July 1906; Major 29 December 1915; retired with rank of Lieutenant-Colonel 1 March 1928.
Proceeded to Belgium and was engaged in the fighting near Ypres, October and November 1914 (wounded). Employed on the Staff in France as Brigade Major, D A A G, A Q M G, and A A G for the remainder of the War (four times mentioned in Despatches, DSO, Chevalier of the Legion of Honour, 1914 Star, silver and bronze medals and O B E). Served with the Shanghai Defence Force in 1927.
