The War Memorial for Scalby (the village just North of Scarborough) is located in St. Laurence's Churchyard.

A very comprehensive website describes the memorial, and the men commemorated on it. The website provides detailed biographical information on the names commemorated, together with photographs. The principal authors of the website are Lesley Newton and Denise Howell, and they have generously allowed use of material from their website.

Of the 27 names commemorated on the memorial as having lost their lives in the First World War, 3 are soldiers who served with the Yorkshire Regiment.
