A franed Roll of Honour for the Employees of Cammell Laird & Co, Sheffield, now hangs in the Kelham Island Museum (Museum of Sheffield's Industrial History).

The Roll of Honour is wooden framed and glazed. The top part features an image of a cavalry charge and the bottom part features an image of ships at battle. The inscription and names are printed on the yellow background with the figures of soldiers in full dress at either side of the names. The names are in eight columns.

700 names are shown, of whom 650 served and returned. Those who lost their lives are shown as such, though one of the Yorkshire Regiment soldiers who lost his life is shown as "served and returned".

3 Soldiers who served in the Yorkshire Regiment are commemorated on this memorial.


Private Harry Chadwick. 3/7451. 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Died 6 January 1915.
Born Pitsmoor (Sheffield), Enlisted Sheffield.
Commemorated on Panel 4, PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL.

Private John Henry Harrison. 7459. 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Husband of the late Martha Harrison. Killed 2 April 1917. Aged 30.
Born Salford (Manchester), Enlisted Sheffield, Resided Peterborough.
Commemorated on Bay 5, ARRAS MEMORIAL.

Private Fred North. 7582. 2nd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Harry James and Adeline North, of 29, Lime St., Wood St., Sheffield. Killed 5 December 1914. Aged 28.
Born Brightside (Sheffield), Enlisted Sheffield.
Buried MERVILLE COMMUNAL CEMETERY.
