The First World War Memorial in in Christ Church, Pitsmoor (Sheffield) is a large stone tablet with ornate wooden surround and incised black lettering in upper case. The names commemorated are in eight columns. The tablet has a wooden surround. Finial carvings are along top with a crown in centre. The crown is topped with a carved wheel cross.

286 names are commemorated, of whom 7 died and 279 returned.

The memorial in the church includes the names of 3 soldiers who served in the Yorkshire Regiment.

Private Joseph Henry Ashton. 23513. 9th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Samuel and Martha Ashton, of Pitsmoor, Sheffield; husband of Eliza Ashton, of 60, Birley St., Neepsend, Sheffield. Killed 5 July 1916. Aged 40.
Born Pitsmoor (Sheffield), Enlisted Sheffield, Resided Neepsend.
Buried GORDON DUMP CEMETERY.

Private Sydney Best, 15868. 6th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Husband of Mrs. A. E. Best, of 37, Outram St., Darlington. Killed 30 September 1916.
Born Pitsmoor (Sheffield), Enlisted Pitsmoor.
Buried GRANDCOURT ROAD CEMETERY.

Private Sidney Davey, 14558. 6th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Davey, of 170, Fox St., Pitsmoor, Sheffield. Killed 10 October 1917. Aged 27.
Born Pitsmoor (Sheffield), Enlisted Sheffield, Resided Pitsmoor.
Commemorated on Panels 52 to 54 and 162A, TYNE COT MEMORIAL.
