Private Charles Henry BREARLEY. 30632.

1st Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 41729 6th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of George and Ada Brearley, of Cridling Stubbs, Knottingley, Yorks. Killed 18 April 1918. Aged 23 years old.
Buried LIJSSENTHOEK MILITARY CEMETERY.

Private Brearley's Service Record survives from which we can see that;-
He was initially in the 6th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Service Number 41729.
He joined the Yorkshire Regiment in Richmond on 7 October 1917.
His address at the time was Manor Farm, Cridling Stubbs, Knottingley, where he was a ploughman.
He transferred to the 1st Battalion east Yorkshire Regiment on 3 April 1918.
He died of wounds on 18 April 1918.
