The War Memorial in St. John's Churchyard, Wetley Rocks, is a Celtic Cross on a three stepped plinth. The dedication and commemorations are in Incised lettering painted black.

Private Moses Bowyer, 41626. 10th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of the late Moses and Harriet Bowyer, of Under Bank Farm. Thorncliffe, Leek, Staffs; husband of Mary Louisa Bowyer, of White Fields, Wetley Rocks, Stoke-on-Trent. Killed 4 October 1917. Aged 31.
Born Thorncliffe (Staffs), Enlisted Stoke-on-Trent, Resided Wetley Rocks (Staffs).
Commemorated on Panels 52 to 54 and 162A, TYNE COT MEMORIAL.
