The Bishop Wilton War Memorial in St. Edith's Churchyard

The Bishop Wilton War Memorial is situated outside the porch of St. Edith's Church, Bishop Wilton.
The main face, on the West side of the memorial, carries the names of those who gave their lives in the Great War and the date they died (the other three sides carry the names of those who served and survived). The commemoration reads;-
TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN UNDYING MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THIS PARISH WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR, 1914 – 1918. / “DULCE ET DECORUM EST PRO PATRIA MORI.”
The following men, including one soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment, are commemorated;-

JOHN C. WALKINGTON. 1918
JOHN H. HUSBAND. 1918
Private George Wilfred Harrison, 2316. 5th Battalion the Yorkshire
Regiment. Died at home 9 January 1915. Aged 20.
Born Howden (Yorks), Enlisted Scarborough, Resided Wilberton (Yorks).
Buried BISHOP WILTON (ST. EDITH) CHURCHYARD.
