Richard Roberts (<richard.nsw@googlemail.com>) has forwarded a photo of the War Memorial inside St. Werburgh's Church in Friar Gate, Derby. The photo was taken by Chris Preston.

St. Werburgh's Church has been redundant as a place of worship for many years, and has been put to various commercial uses. Inside is a First World War Memorial on which the name of Lieut. Horace Jocelyn Graves is commemorated. Lieutenant Graves is also remembered on the Derby Grammar School War Memorial.


Lieutenant Horace Jocelyn Graves, MC. 13th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, attached to the 8th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Horace and Lucy Elizabeth Graves of 28 Friar Gate, Derby. Killed 14 October 1918. Aged 31.
Buried ST. SEVER CEMETERY EXTENSION, ROUEN.
